As the 8th generation Cedric and 9th generation Gloria, the Y32 series was released in June 1992 as a full model change from the previous Y31 series. The body for both models was enlarged, with a widened, curvilinear design. From the Y32, the pillar hard-top was incorporated. Also, the suspension and chassis were updated, improving the car’s safety.
